From selling sweets to higher purpose and education
At 19, Alfred Fuller's journey from selling sweets at school to fund his education has earned him the inaugural $750,000 AFS Marcus James Scholarship. Growing up in a single-parent home in Bog Walk, the St Jago High alumnus often chose between bus fare and family needs. Now studying business at UTech, he dreams of enterprises combining profit with purpose, including platforms connecting farmers to consumers and affordable study materials for students.
